Environmental policy
As a major player in the renewables marketplace,
Navitron Ltd must set an example by being aware of its
impact on the environment and is committed to reduce or
minimise its effect in a responsible manner.
Specifically, Navitron Ltd has
established an Environmental Policy as follows:
- We minimise our carbon
impact by utilising renewable fuels wherever
possible. Our diesel engined vehicles are run on 35%
rape oil. Approximately 50% of our heating is
provided by waste wood/cardboard
(broken pallets, shipping crates, builders' waste
etc.).
- We have a policy of
reuse wherever possible - all of our cardboard
packaging is reclaimed, and all cushioning material
(polystyrene, bubblewrap etc) is reclaimed
packaging.
- Over the last year we have worked with the wind turbine
manufacturer to replace polystyrene packaging with shredded
cardboard, which is easier to recycle and more-environmentally
friendly.
- Any packaging material
that is unfit for reuse is either recycled (paper,
cardboard, glass), or burnt for heating purposes
(wood, some cardboard) or composted (some
cardboard).
- Virtually 100% of our
water heating requirements is produced in a
carbon-neutral manner - either by solar or wood.
- We generate a
significant proportion of our electrical
requirements by solar and wind. We have planned a
significant expansion which will provide 100% of our
electrical requirements.
- We minimise energy
consumption through energy-efficiency.
- We are constantly
looking at ways to improving and developing our
energy independancy.
